Impact Highlights
I learned so much from the certified orientation and mobility specialists (COMS) and the other clients. I have been using the new and refined techniques daily since coming home. I’m also referring people to the program! Thank you again for such an amazing opportunity and showing me that I’m not broken and alone.
My first Leader Dog did a lot for my mental health and I wasn't expecting that. I was excited to see what the new dog was going to be—but wondered if he was going to be as good as my first dog—and he is. He's a wonderful dog.
One of my goals was to be confident traveling at night when I lose my remaining usable vision, which is about 5%. I was nervous completing my night walk during training at Leader Dog, but I did it! I even crossed a busy street at night!
The deadline is almost here!
